Introduction
I recently changed the hosting provider for my blog. This blog is created using an application software called Hugo, which generates websites. It combines HTML templates with specially formatted articles to create a website. Previously, I used a hosting provider that automatically published the website created by Hugo to a designated location.
Sudden Error Prevents Publication
The hosting provider was convenient, making the publication process relatively easy and secure, so I intended to continue using it for a while. However, 2-3 days ago, I suddenly encountered an error that prevented me from publishing articles.
The articles were ready, so I knew there was no issue with how the website was created. It was puzzling because I could publish just the day before, but suddenly, errors started appearing. 🤔
Cause Identified! But It Was Just the Beginning
I was motivated to work on the blog, but this sudden error put its existence in jeopardy. Although the publication process was almost fully automated, I knew there was a complex system behind it, so I started investigating. I quickly identified the cause. It turned out that a feature called the extended version in Hugo had somehow been disabled.
Once I figured this out, I thought it would be a simple matter of changing the settings and finishing the task. But…👀
Decided to Switch to Another Server
After identifying the cause, I changed the server settings and tried to publish again. I thought the work was done, but a new error occurred. It seemed there was a mistake in the settings required to use the extended version, leading to a new error.
In hindsight, since I could publish without the extended version settings before, those settings should not have been necessary. I researched AI and technical sites, but ultimately, I couldn’t resolve the issue.
I started this task in the morning 🌅, but before I knew it, it was night 🌛. As I grew tired, I finally decided to switch servers. On the new server, I could publish without any errors, as if nothing had happened.
The time it took from switching servers to publishing was just 5 minutes! I wish I had changed the server from the beginning…😅
